Dear Parents,
Many of you have asked me in the past couple of weeks if there was anything your child could do at home that would be worthwhile and beneficial for them. I am now implementing a program called MobyMax into my classroom. MobyMax is a web-based program that can be accessed by any computer that has internet. It offers a wide range of lessons and topics that are uniquely designed for your child on his/her level.
I would absolutely love if all of my students were able to get onto this program each night and complete a few lessons. However, I am aware that you all have busy schedules that might not allow for that. If possible, please encourage your child to sign in a few times a week and complete at least 10 minutes worth of instruction. I will offer incentives for all students who complete at least 20 minutes a week on MobyMax.
Here are the directions for logging on:
1. Go to www.mobymax.com
2. Click on the blue “sign in” button in the upper right hand corner.
3. Look for the “Sign in as a” box. Click the down arrow and choose “student”.
4. In the “Find your school before signing in” section, type “beech springs” (no quotations) and press enter. If you type “beech springs intermediate”, it will not find our school.
5. When the search results come up, click the little bubble beside our school. You should be taken directly to the sign in screen.
6. Your child’s username is his/her first name in all lowercase.
Your child’s password is the same as his/her login.
7. When you choose a subject, it might take you to a pretest. This test must be done in order to find the level that your child is on. Once the test is completed, your child can start working on actual lessons. Most lessons are very short and can be done in less than 10-20 minutes. They will be asked a series of questions at the end.
In order for this program to be beneficial to your child, please make sure he/she is trying his/her best on each assignment. I will monitor each student’s progress and let you know if I see anything that needs to be addressed. If I see consistent effort and progress from your child, he/she will be recommended for a “golden ticket”, which is our school's way of recognizing students who are demonstrating behavior that is above and beyond expectation.
If you have any questions or trouble logging in, please feel free to email or call me. I will be happy to help in any way I can!
